Master Class with Brooke Desnoës

Brooke Desnoës
Director, L’Académie Américaine de Danse de Paris

Brooke DesnoësBrooke Desnoës was trained at School of Performing Arts under Sonia Arova and subsequently danced with ballet companies in North America and Europe. She has danced a varied repertoire including leading roles in many classic ballets such as “Sleeping Beauty”, “Cinderella”, “Paquita”, and  “Romeo and Juliet” as well as works by other contemporary choreographies.
After a period of teaching at The Washington School of Ballet in Washington D.C., under the direction of Mary Day,  Brooke founded L’Académie Américaine de Danse de Paris which since its creation in 1998 has become the largest American ballet school outside of the United Sates. She has initiated, among many programs, the development of a pre-professional training program which welcomes young dancers from across Europe, North and South America and Asia. In 2007 she successfully implemented an American Master Class Series, which gives young talented European dancers the opportunity to study with instructors from major American companies and schools.  Her students have gone on to study at school such as; American Ballet Theatre (ABT),  The Washington School of Ballet, Atlanta Ballet School of Dance, Alvin Ailey Dance Center, The Boston Ballet School, The Royal Ballet School, English National Ballet School and have been accepted into professional companies across Europe. In addition over the past four years she coaches her students into the finals of international dance competitions such as Youth America Grand Prix. Ms. Desnoës holds a BA in Ballet Pedagogy and Early Childhood Development, and has been a member of “Conseil International de la Danse”, UNESCO since 2006 and works directly with the Royal Academy of Dance to coordinate events in Paris where she was granted the title of Mentor in 2009.

Brooke is committed to the achievement of the highest standard for all of her students. She believes that every student must be provided with careful guidance and be offered the opportunity to maximize one’s potential.
