For the past two years the Indianapolis City Ballet has put on a one-night event that many have claimed is the most exciting annual arts event in the city. So what are they doing for year three? Adding a second night of course! This year the Indianapolis City Ballet’s Young Stars of Ballet will take place the night before the Evening with the Stars performance, both at the Murat. Travis DiNicola spoke with the ballet’s producer Kevin Hesse, their Director of Marketing, Elli Baker, and founders and board members Robert Hesse and Jane Fortune.The Young Stars of Ballet and Evening with the Stars programs take place on Friday September 9 and Saturday, September 10 at the Murat Theatre at the Old National Centre. 02/04/11 - The Young Stars of Ballet are being recruited for a ballet extravaganza held on Friday, September 9, 2011, and the dance world is taking notice. Featuring Medal Winners from the world’s major competitions including Varna, Sochi, Jackson, Lausanne, YAGP, and more. The evening honors David Howard, Master Teacher to the Stars, and will unite stars from the ballet world, past and present. Auditions will be held on Sunday, February 27, 2011. Read more.
